the software

the main software for emulating the old roms is mame (multiple arcade machine emulator).
the frontend we use is called 'advmenu'. it's a menu where you can browse through the roms and start them
without the need of a keyboard. it all runs on a homegrown version of dos, based on a win95 rescue-disk.

we wrote a boot-menu for the option of booting the pc as a network-client accessible via tcp/ip.
so, there are no more cd or disk drives necessary, updaing the system configuration or installing roms
can be done over the network.

this table has about 600 working roms installed.
